March is Women's History Month! Let's Celebrate Our Favorite Childhood Authors
During the month of March we celebrate "Women in History" month. There are so many women throughout history who have touch our lives in various ways; too numerous to mention. But, the first thought that came to mind, were the women authors who brought my imagination to life every time I opened the pages of their books.
How blessed I was to be surrounded by books from babyhood, and on up throughout my entire life! My richest memories are the moments when I picked up a book, sat in my favorite chair, and began reading. With each new page, I entered a realm that transported me far and away from the room I was sitting in.
There is one author who comes to mind when I think of children's classics. I would imagine there's not a child alive who has not heard about Peter Rabbit! Beatrix Potter was blessed with a remarkable talent.

"Beatrix Potter is one of the world's bestselling, most cherished authors, whose books have enchanted generations of children for over a hundred years. Yet how she achieved this legendary status is just one of the several elements in her remarkable and unexpected life." ~ Matthew Dennison
Although we do not currently have the following biography in stock, I encourage you to learn more about the fascinating life of Beatrix Potter in her biography, "Over the Hills and Far Away: The Life of Beatrix Potter" written by Matthew Dennison.
There is also a lovely website dedicated to Peter Rabbit here!
